What personal data I collect and why

Personal information provided by my clients when they join one of my classes or sessions is used only for teaching purposes.  This information may include your name, address, phone number, email and medical history. This information is used in confidence and stored securely.  It will not, in any circumstances, be shared with a third party unless your express written consent is given. Any information you provide me with will be retained securely for a period of time, usually 7 years, to comply with professional, legal and insurance requirements that I have to  fulfill.

You can request to see what personal data I hold on you at anytime, by contacting me using the details above. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you, but this does not include any data that I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Your personal Data and my website

I do not store any of the personal information detailed above on my website. For specific details of what information my website collects when you use or contribute to its content is detailed below.


When visitors leave comments on my site, the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string are collected in order to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.

If you upload your own images to my website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website may be able to download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Website Cookies

If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. Website Analytics

In order to ensure my website is working properly and meeting my customers needs it is tracked by Google Analytics. Google only retains analytical data for this site for 14 months.  I do not (and will not allow any third party to) use the Service to track, collect or upload any data that personally identifies an individual (such as a name, email address or billing information), or other data which can be reasonably linked to such information by Google. Website data retention

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data on my website

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data gets sent when using my website

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
